AFI enhances System Migration to IP with
Pilot Management Software

Pilot’s DVR Management Function Creates an Easy Analog to IP Migration Path.

Somerset, NJ (May 17, 2010) - American Fibertek, Inc. (AFI) is enhancing video security system migration options for dealers/integrators faced with expanding legacy DVR installations. V’nes (Video Network Enterprise Solution) Pilot Video/Event Management Software can be integrated with DVRs from leading manufacturers including Bosch, Dedicated Micros, Honeywell, Pelco, Samsung and SANYO, among others.

“This integration is a perfect example of how our “Open Path” commitment to system integration can yield innovative solutions that meet current market situations,” said Jack Fernandes, President and CEO of AFI. IP/analog and industry convergence continue to give AFI the opportunity to innovate beyond expectations. We are providing our customers with integration solutions that ease enterprise IP-based application deployments, provide added security and reliability and deliver a sound ROI.”

Pilot Enterprise VMS is a complete management software system for video, audio, data, environmental sensors and network switches. In addition to displaying and recording video streams, Pilot software also processes alarms and system environmental status events from AFI’s Commander, Scout and Net I/O network appliances.

According to Mr. Fernandes, Commander, Scout and Net I/O in a parallel IP security network managed by Pilot achieve the highest levels of efficiency for IP-based video surveillance and security systems. “What sets AFI apart from other VMS and network hardware manufacturers is our ability to do both. In addition to Pilot’s record, display and playback functions, it also supervises the AFI hardware used to create this parallel network,” adds Mr. Fernandes. “And now with the capability to incorporate DVRs under supervisory control, there is a simple path from analog to IP expansion with the added advantage of increased operational reliability.”

The V’nes standardized network transmission product line-up of software and hardware appliances is the industry’s only comprehensive security network system control, management and transmission system solution. It can accommodate any combination of video surveillance, access control, point of sale, voice and data system devices, analog, IP or hybrid, from virtually any manufacturer.
