Guide to Closed Circuit TV (CCTV)

So would you like to play "Spot the CCTV Camera?". Eagle eyed visitors may recognise the profusion of street furniture, surrounding a single heritage dome camera keeping watch over part of Londons' prestigious Oxford Street shopping area.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)

Feeling all at sea, when it comes to finding the answers to all those awkward little Closed Circuit TV questions.

Although Doktor Jon must apologise for the fact that at the moment, this section of the CCTV site is still currently under construction, you will hopefully find that as various pages are added, all will eventually become clear (...ish!).

It's worth mentioning that whereas this section is detailing common questions on a range of equipment and subjects, if you have a particular issue that needs addressing, let Doktor Jon know, and the problem and answer can be posted in the "Problem Pages" area of this site.

It has been suggested that a less formal 'Dear Doktor Jon' section, where visitors online CCTV questions would be answered, might be an interesting development for this site - what do you think?

Alternatively, if you want to get a wider response to a problem or question, why not post about it on the Forum

For the moment, the FAQ's section is currently divided up into:-

CCTV in the Home

System Design

Installation

CCTV Equipment

Legal Matters

So now hopefully you won't have to wait too much longer
for all those important answers!
