Arecont Vision Unveils New Compact H.264 Cameras at ESSEN 2010.

Smaller Models Set a New Bar for Price and Performance in Megapixel Cameras.

Essen, Germany (October 5, 2010) - Arecont Vision, the industry leader in IP-based megapixel camera technology, introduces a new line of lower-cost H.264 compact megapixel cameras that are half the size and a third of the weight of previous models. The model AV1315 1.3 megapixel camera and the model AV2815, 1080p HD camera are easy to install and can now fit into smaller housings and domes.

Unveiled at ESSEN 2010, model AV1315 provides 1280x1024-pixel (1.3 megapixel) images at 32 frames per second, and model AV 2815 provides 1920x1080-pixel (2.07 megapixel) images at 24 frames per second. Both camera models use H.264 compression to minimize bandwidth and storage requirements. The cameras are also fully compatible with the PSIA (Physical Security Interoperability Alliance) industry standard and have passed PSIA conformance tests. Each is also available in a Day/Night version (Model AV1315DN or Model AV2815DN). The units are powered via PoE eliminating the need for auxiliary power.

“Our new compact H.264 megapixel cameras set a new bar for performance and price in the market giving yet another compelling reason to ‘Go Megapixel’ in any surveillance application,” said Dr. Michael Kaplinsky, CEO, Arecont Vision. “The attractive price points of these new cameras reflect a 20% to 25% price decrease compared to previous models making them even more cost competitive against standard definition IP and analog cameras. And, the user gets the full benefit of much greater image resolution and functionality in a smaller camera.”

The new Arecont Vision compact camera models also provide added functionality. The privacy mask enables video to be blocked in multiple regions in any arbitrary shape. Extended motion detection provides a higher-granularity grid of 1,024 distinct motion detection zones (compared to 64 zones supported earlier). These features are controlled via both HTTP and TFTP commands and by the on-camera web interface. Flexible cropping provides even more adjustability in image sizes.

Arecont Vision Introduces MegaView™ All-In-One
H.264 Day/Night Megapixel Cameras with Infrared Capabilities.

Plug-And-Play MegaViewTM Line Features IP66-Rated
and Vandal-Resistant Bullet-Style Enclosures.

Arecont Vision, the industry leader in IP-based megapixel camera technology, introduces the MegaViewTM line of all-in-one Day/Night H.264 megapixel cameras enclosed in IP66 (environmentally rated) and vandal-resistant cylindrical (bullet- style) housings. Models are available in 1.3 megapixel and 1080p resolution, each with an integrated megapixel IR-corrected lens. Each MegaViewTM camera is also available in a model with an integrated IR LED ring that sets a new standard in the megapixel camera market.

The all-in-one models are more compact than using separate enclosure options, and installation is simple using an easily adjustable 3-axis bracket and external lens adjustment of zoom, focus and iris. The camera models are truly plug-and-play: There is no need to open the camera during installation.

“Our new MegaViewTM series provides the type of turnkey product solution that customers are looking for, simplifying installation and reducing associated installation costs.” said Raul Calderon, Vice President of Marketing, Arecont Vision. “The integrated IR LED illumination capability opens up an array of new applications in extreme dark conditions, further extending the range of uses for megapixel imaging by offering a robust, easy-to-install option for any outdoor surveillance need.”

Power options include PoE to power only the camera or 24V AC or 12-48V DC to also support the heater and IR LED array. The IR ring is also easily field-upgradeable. For applications requiring 1.3 megapixel imaging, Arecont Vision offers the Model AV1325DN H.264 day/night MegaViewTM IP camera and the AV1325IR version with IR illumination ring option. Model AV2825DN is an HD 1080p H.264 day/night MegaViewTM IP camera, and Model AV2825IR includes an IR LED option.

The new Arecont Vision MegaViewTM cameras also provide added functionality.

The new MegaViewTM models being introduced at ESSEN 2010 begin production late in the fourth quarter. The new cameras will be immediately compatible with VMS platforms integrated with the compact H.264 series of cameras.

Arecont Vision Introduces New Panoramic Day/Night Cameras.

360-Degree and 180-Degree Day/Night Megapixel Models
Provide Installation Ease And Flexibility.

Essen , Germany (October 5, 2010) – Arecont Vision, the industry leader in IP-based megapixel camera technology, introduces their next generation of Day/Night 8 megapixel panoramic cameras, AV8185DN and AV8365DN, at ESSEN 2010. Each new camera incorporates surface- mount and in-ceiling mounting options and an IP66-rated environmental chassis needing no external housing. Model AV8185DN provides a 180-degree panoramic view, using four 2- megapixel sensors which can be switched between day and night manually or automatically.

The AV8365DN panoramic camera provides a 360-degree day/night panoramic view, using four 2-megapixel sensors for a total image of 6400x1200 pixels. Combining surface-mount and in-ceiling configurations into a single model simplifies installation and reduces the requirement for multiple models. Both the AV8185DN and the AV8365DN have a two-axis gimbal, providing X-Y (pan-tilt) adjustment as well as180 degree tilt and 360 degree pan rotation for easy alignment. An integrated heater and blower are provided with the AV8185DN-HB and AV8365DN-HB models.

“Our newest 8-megapixel panoramic cameras are a cost-effective solution for many applications where PTZs are normally used or where multiple cameras are used to view expansive areas. These camera solutions have electronic zoom windows that allow a user to view and record the entire panoramic field of view while simultaneously digitally zooming in to multiple regions of interest ... something a PTZ cannot do,” said Dr. Michael Kaplinsky, CEO, Arecont Vision. “These new cameras are a much more cost effective solution eliminating the requirement for an external housing and consequently resulting in a reduction of between 16% and 30% depending on the configuration. Our panoramic cameras have been very popular, and the latest versions enhance our existing panoramic series by adding Day/Night functionality, sensor adjustment as well as a host of installer friendly attributes.”

Model AV8365DN provides simplified installation with a plus-or-minus 10-degree (20 degree total) individual mechanical adjustment for each sensor, enabling removal of the video “dead spot” at the dome bottom or at the horizon. Mounting options include all 1.5-in. NPT threaded pipe, wall mount (SV-WMT) or pendant mount (SV-CMT), with availability of pole mount (MD- PMA) and corner mount (MD-CRMA) adapters that are also used with Arecont Vision's MegaDomeTM line.

The new panoramic models being introduced at ESSEN begin production late in the fourth quarter. The new cameras will be immediately compatible with existing VMS platforms that already integrate with the AV8185 and AV8365 Arecont Vision cameras. Active control of the new day/night feature and electronic vertical alignment will require further integration.

Arecont Vision's complete line of cameras range in image resolution from 1.3 to 10 megapixels, including camera models providing advanced capabilities such as dual sensor day/night and panoramic viewing. Compact JPEG and compact H.264 cameras lead the price/performance curve. The Arecont Vision line also includes the MegaDome® Series of all- in-one dome cameras and the new MegaViewTM line of all-in-one Day/Night/IR H.264 megapixel cameras enclosed in IP-66 and vandal-resistant bullet-style housings.
