CCTV Center provides Panasonic CCTV system and support services to the new Welsh Assembly Government building in Wales.
CCTV Center has played a key role in providing the networked CCTV system installed by Chubb Fire and Security, in the new Welsh Assembly Government building at Llandudno Junction in north Wales.
The £27m, state-of-the-art building is amongst the greenest public buildings in Wales. It accommodates over 500 civil servants, a range of support agencies, including CAFCASS, and will become a major public venue. The complete site includes a gate house, car parks, public transport shelters and landscaped garden areas. John Jones, Chubb Fire and Security Regional General Manager, St Asaph, explains. "CCTV Center provided system design and specification, all the Panasonic equipment we used, as well as off-site pre-configuration of the cameras, switches and recorders.
After installation, CCTV Center carried out system testing, commissioning and operator training. The installation was completed ahead of schedule and fully met our customers' needs. It is also backed by the company's unique, 5 year, system warranty."
The CCTV system comprises 54 Panasonic cameras, including 30 internal PTZ domes with the remainder protecting the building perimeter and car park. The control room system is rack mounted with four, 16 channel, Panasonic digital video recorders (DVR's), a 64 channel Panasonic switching matrix and a desk- mounted control unit for managing the entire site.
The system will store and process a massive 17Tb of data with off-site back-up. Operators view a 42" plasma screen, a desk monitor, a computer-based down load facility and a touch screen with interactive site map. This covers the building and grounds and shows camera and sensor locations. The control room and gate house are networked with external access for remote monitoring and the CCTV system is integrated with the intruder alarm, fire, door entry and baggage checking systems. The CCTV system is designed to provide a rapid response service to site incidents and is managed by on-site Securitas manned guards. When the impressive Welsh Assembly Government Building opens later in 2010, visitors and employees can rest assured that they will be well protected, leaving them to enjoy its beautiful setting and the pride it brings to North Wales.
