Security Industry Steps Up for 5K Charity Run.

Course Details Released for Run to Focus Attention on Needy Children.

Miami, FL (February 22, 2010) - Details for the Security 5K / Mission 500 Charity Run at ISC West, scheduled for Thursday, March 25th, have been announced by the organizers and runners can expect a course that is flat and wide, catering to even the most novice of runners.

Starting promptly at 7:30 am, the course will take runners along Industrial Road from the Fashion Center Mall area north to Sahara Blvd and then loop back along the same route to finish at the starting point.  Race bags and complimentary food will be available for all runners following the race.

“There are around 60 runners registered to date and we are looking forward to a great turnout for this worthy cause, which focuses attention on children in need,” said George Fletcher, Advisory Council Member/Volunteer, Mission 500.  “Everyone who participates is a winner because one hundred percent of the funds raised will be channeled directly to World Vision.”

Mission 500 is a charity organization that was formed strictly to engage security professionals in supporting the goal of sponsoring 500 children in need, through the World Vision charitable organization.  The Security 5K / Mission 500 Charity Run is a first of a kind event at an ISC Expo and was conceived to engage new corporate sponsors as well as individuals within the industry.

Runners can register for the race on-site on March 24th at the Mission 500 booth, located at the main entrance to the Expo Hall or by registering online at www.firstgiving.com/mission500.  A nominal entry fee of $30.00 will go directly to the charity.  Additionally, all visitors who pre-register online for the ISC West Expo will receive notification of the Race and be asked if they would like to participate.

A reception and Awards Ceremony for the Security 5K / Mission 500 Race will be hosted by the organizing sponsors and by the Mission 500 organization on the evening of March 25 at the Sands Expo and Convention Center.  Awards will be presented to winners of the various age categories as well as to the top male and female runners.

The Security 5K / Mission 500 Race at the 2010 ISC West Expo in Las Vegas is a joint collaboration between United Publications, publishers of Security Systems News and Security Director News; Reed Exhibitions, proprietors of ISC Expos; and Mission 500.  Charter sponsors are Altronix Corporation, AXIS Communications, Deister Electronics, HID, LRG Marketing Communications, Morse Watchmans and Safety Technology International, Inc.
