Pelco Announces Endura Support for Third-Party Cameras, Storage

Clovis, CA (September 10, 2009) – In keeping with its commitment to open and integrated systems, Pelco is proud to announce the introduction of support for third-party IP cameras and third-party storage in the latest version of their Endura IP Video Surveillance System.

According to company officials, these advancements are made possible by the release of two new Endura system components: the UDI5000 Universal Device Interface and the NSM52000F Network Storage Manager with Fiber support.

“The UDI5000 overcomes the current over-complicated challenges of adding different manufacturers’ IP cameras to a video management system,” explains Mitch Fagundes, Pelco Product Marketing Manager. “The Pelco approach removes the headaches of hardware addresses, camera licenses, and difficult set-up. With the UDI5000 and Endura, things are simple. The intuitive interface allows integrators and users to easily set up third-party devices, without the usual hours or days of frustration.”

The UDI5000 includes drivers for a variety of IP cameras, with no need for software licenses. At initial release, the UDI5000 will support 78 cameras from five IP camera manufacturers: Arecont, Axis, Panasonic, Sony and IQinVision. The company plans to add support for additional devices and manufacturers on an on-going basis.

The NSM5200F, a new version of the Endura Network Storage Manager, incorporates a fiber channel card to support connections to third-party Storage Area Networks. “This is a great option for customers who want to enjoy the performance of an Endura IP video system, while taking advantage of their existing storage infrastructure,” says Fagundes.
