Arecont Vision Expands Compact Megapixel Line with Five New Cameras

Compact H.264 Models Offer 1.3, 3 and 5 Megapixel Resolutions; also Include Full HD 1080p and 10 Megapixel/1080p Dual Mode H.264 Cameras

Glendale, CA (August 9, 2011) – Arecont Vision, the industry leader in IP-based megapixel camera technology, has expanded its Compact MegaVideoŽ line of box cameras from 10 models to 15, including a new 1.3 megapixel compact H.264 model (AV1115), a Full HD1080p compact H.264 model (AV2115), a dual-mode 10 megapixel/1080p compact H.264 camera (AV10115), 3 megapixel H.264 (AV3115) and 5 megapixel H.264 (AV5115) compact cameras.

Like other models in Arecont Vision's Compact MegaVideoŽ line, the new cameras are less expensive, smaller (with 45 percent less depth dimension) and 33 percent lighter than previous models. The new cameras are also easy to install and can fit into smaller housings. For example, the cameras can support 4.5-10mm and 8-16mm varifocal lenses and still fit inside a 4-inch dome housing.

Arecont Vision AV2115, the Full HD1080p compact H.264 model, can also operate in the company’s new Casino Mode which ensures continuous full-motion recording at 30 frames per second (fps) to comply with gaming industry regulations. Casino Mode guarantees that the frame rate will not dip below 30 fps by forcing automatic bit rate and exposure control to maintain specific predetermined settings.

“By continuing to develop our line of compact megapixel cameras, Arecont Vision is further expanding the use of these high performance imaging solutions for mainstream video surveillance applications,” said Dr. Michael Kaplinsky, CEO, Arecont Vision. “The attractive price points of Arecont Vision cameras make them cost competitive with standard VGA resolution cameras, and with this wider selection of models, users can benefit from much greater image resolution and functionality in a smaller, lower cost camera.”

An auto-iris lens is available at any resolution, whether 1.3MP, 1080p, 3MP, 5MP or 10MP. Compression includes H.264 (MPEG-4, Part 10) and Motion JPEG with 21 levels of quality. Multi-streaming functionality (with eight non-identical streams) allows efficient use of bandwidth. Fast frame rates include 32fps at 1080p, 14fps at 5MP and 7fps at 10 MP. Arecont Vision's MegaVideoŽ image processing is capable of performing 80 billion operations per second to simultaneously deliver full resolution and region of interest streams.

An on-camera privacy mask feature enables video to be blocked in multiple regions in almost any arbitrary shape. Extended motion detection provides a higher-granularity grid of 1,024 distinct motion detection zones. Forensic zooming allows close-up views of any region of interest, even on archived video.

The cameras are fully compatible with the PSIA (Physical Security Interoperability Alliance) industry standard and have passed PSIA conformance tests. Cameras can be powered by either power over Ethernet (PoE) or 12-48V DC/AC power supplies.

Arecont Vision Adds Casino Mode™ to Full HD 1080p H.264 Cameras

Guarantees Continuous 30fps Frame Rate Required By Gaming Industry Regulations

Glendale, CA (August 2, 2011) – Arecont Vision, the industry leader in IP-based megapixel camera technology, announces the addition of a new Casino Mode™ to the company's full HD 1080p camera models. This feature ensures continuous full-motion recording at 30 frames per second (fps) to comply with gaming industry regulations. Casino Mode™ guarantees that the frame rate will not dip below 30 fps by forcing automatic bit rate and exposure control to maintain specific predetermined settings.

“Full motion video at 30 fps is a core requirement for customers in the gaming industry. Each dome camera is easy to install and features an adjustable 2-axis gimbal to provide 360-degree pan and 70-degree tilt adjustment.

In addition, Casino Mode™ functionality is provided on the AV2125DN MegaView 1080p H.264 all-in-one day/night camera contained in an IP66-rated and vandal-resistant “bullet”-style housing; and the MegaView AV2125IR 1080p H.264 version with an IR illuminator.

All 1080p models provide 1920 x 1080-pixel resolution at 30 fps. Additional functionality of Arecont Vision cameras include a privacy mask to enable video to be blocked on the camera in multiple regions in almost any arbitrary shape. Extended motion detection provides a higher-granularity grid of 1,024 distinct motion detection zones. Forensic zooming allows close-up views of any region of interest, even on archived video. Cameras can be powered by either Power over Ethernet (PoE) or 12-48V DC/AC power supplies.
