Next-Generation Video Security Trailer (VST) is Ideal for Temporary and Long-term Security Applications

Las Vegas, NV (April 6, 2011) –SightLogix®, Inc. announces the Video Security Trailer (VST), a self-contained perimeter security solution for temporary or long-term surveillance applications. Announced at ISC West 2011, this next-generation system brings the same reliability and stability of SightLogix’ fixed perimeter surveillance systems to temporary security applications.

The SightLogix VST comes equipped with long-range SightSensor video analytic detection cameras, electronic pan/tilt positioning units, solar panels, backup batteries, and optional wireless communications. The heavy-duty system has onboard power generation and works reliably in a wide range of operating environments, from desert to arctic deployments. The system is designed for high probability of intruder detection with low nuisance alarms over large areas. Two people can quickly deploy and set up an automated video intrusion detection system within 30 minutes in most situations.

“The Video Security Trailer makes outdoor intelligent video accurate and affordable as a portable, mobile platform, even at remote locations under harsh conditions,” said John Romanowich, President and CEO, SightLogix. “Our commercial off-the-shelf technology can be quickly scaled to accurately detect pedestrians or other intrusions while minimizing the nuisance alerts that have rendered other solutions less effective.” Recognized as a leader in intelligent video surveillance systems that provide efficient, cost-effective management of outdoor areas, SightLogix’ combination of edge-based video analytics, long and wide area coverage, and GPS-based target tracking has been deployed around the world to meet the critical security needs of the transportation, energy, utility, chemical, information technology, public safety and defense industries.

SightLogix® Highlights Outdoor Video Analytics at ISC West
Accurate Perimeter Security System Minimizes Nuisance Alarms and Lowers Overall Costs

Las Vegas, NV (April 6, 2011) – SightLogix, manufacturer of video analytics systems for perimeter security applications, is showcasing its automated outdoor video system at ISC West this year. The SightLogix solution accurately detects, provides assessment detail, and locates intrusions over large outdoor areas and site perimeters in the toughest outdoor environments.

SightLogix systems are being selected and deployed for perimeter security projects for customers in energy, rail, sea and airports, water treatment plants, solar power fields, petroleum refineries, chemical storage and manufacturing facilities, data centers, public safety organizations, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Defense. SightLogix SightSensor video analytic cameras pre-integrate all of the components needed for accurate and cost-effective video intrusion detection, simplifying deployment and delivering projects that are on time and on budget. Each SightSensor camera brings five times the typical video processing power at the network edge to accurately detect security violations over large outdoor areas and filter out movement of the natural world caused by wind, lighting, precipitation, clouds, shadows and vibrations which would otherwise cause nuisance alarms.

SightLogix systems offer a compelling cost advantage as well. The same video processing power that gives SightSensor cameras their accuracy also provides extended range and coverage area (over 600 meters, in some cases) allowing for poles to be placed up to three times further apart. As a result, SightLogix customers benefit from greatly reduced infrastructure needs (one third the number of poles, trenching, and power) otherwise needed, making SightLogix the most cost-effective perimeter security solution available.

The only way to provide accurate video analytics outdoors is to focus on image processing in advance of detection, a critical preliminary step for making outdoor surveillance repeatable, accurate, easy to use and cost effective,” said John Romanowich, President and CEO, SightLogix. “Unlike indoor surveillance applications, which are designed to operate in static environments, outdoor analytics must contend with an environment that is constantly changing. For this reason, SightLogix has taken a different approach from other video analytics manufacturers – and this has been the cornerstone of our integration partner and end user customers’ success.” An additional element that SightLogix considers critical for accurate outdoor video analytics is GPS registration. SightLogix SightSensor cameras are geo-registered to the scene, so they can accurately determine target size across a large field of view and filter out small animals and blowing debris on the ground, reducing nuisance alarms. SightLogix systems also use geo-registration to display the coordinates of detected targets onto a sitemap for situational awareness, and to automatically position PTZ cameras to zoom and follow targets.
The SightLogix Automated Outdoor Video System includes:

− SightSensor™ Visible, WideView and Thermal Cameras – Detection cameras incorporate an imager, lens optics, electronic stabilization, on-board image processing, video analytics software, camera control and GPS- target tracking.
− SightTracker™ – Pan-Tilt-Zoom Controller translates the GPS-based target information from an associated SightSensor and automatically steers third-party PTZ cameras to zoom and follow detected targets.
− SightMonitor™ – Target Mapping and Configuration Software overlays camera positions, detected alarms and locations and camera fields-of-view onto a geo-positioned aerial map of the surveillance area to provide users complete situational awareness.
− Rugged Build For Outdoor Applications – All components of the SightLogix system are enclosed within a ruggedized, NEMA 4X housing to withstand weather and climate conditions, including rain, snow, humidity, sand and temperature extremes. SightLogix systems are protecting assets in environments ranging from the frozen Arctic to the Middle East desert.
− Easy Integration With Existing Systems – SightLogix technology uses open standards to plug into existing access control and video management systems seamlessly without middleware, custom integration or additional equipment.
− End-to-End Data Security – Flexible and secure communications include 10/100 Ethernet with support for satellite, cellular, wireless (802.11 a/b/g) and full broadband communications, with AES 256-bit encryption and SSL protocol.
− Heavy Duty Mounts and Cables – Accessories for the SightLogix outdoor video system include heavy-duty adjustable head mounts for long-range SightSensors, mounting brackets for SightTrackers, 26-pin Mil type connectors and extended cables.
– SightSurvey™ Web-Based Design Tool – Enabling integrators to quickly and easily model an automated outdoor area and perimeter security system layout using the Google Maps depiction of the actual site, SightSurvey equips systems integrators and consultants to walk end-user customers interactively through the process of system design for their facility. SightSurvey uses advanced geospatial (GIS) technologies to provide an intuitive web-based tool to quickly and effectively convert simple user specifications into detailed camera configuration and installation settings.
