New Smartec product: 32ch DVR with 4 monitor outputs, MPEG-4 and Full D1

Smartec STR-3293 32ch video recorder is designed to deploy local or distributed video surveillance systems. It features 250GB SATA HDD for recording video archives, and also has slots for 3 additional hard drives.

In addition, this device can operate with external disk arrays totaling up to 30 TB. New Smartec DVR provides video recording in MPEG-4 with up to Full D1 resolution at up to 800 fps. Each 32ch DVR has DVD-RW, 4 audio channels, motion detection, 16 alarm inputs and 4 outputs as well as RS-232/485 interfaces for PTZ-cameras operation control.

Video recorder is also equipped with 4 independent monitor outputs, so the operator can organize 4 independent video monitoring posts. For remote video monitoring and STR-3293 operation control over the network new recorder is bundled with professional VMS software

STR-3293 is an optimal solution for deployment of local or distributed CCTV systems. For video recording 32ch DVR utilizes MPEG-4 video compression and provides the adjustment of recording quality. STR-3293 maximum recording speed on all channels is 800 fps at 2CIF (720x288) or CIF (360x288), and 400 fps at Full D1 (720x576). DVR also enables the operator to set up recording quality for each channel and transmit video over the network.

For a video archive, STR-3293 is equipped with 250GB SATA HDD with the ability to install three additional HDDs, totaling up to 4 TB. The best disk space usage is provided by various recording modes. For example, 32ch DVR can perform an emergency video recording, scheduled recording, alarm recording and also supports recording of pre- and post-alarm video information. Using STR-3293 system menu, the operator can set the recording mode with a speed or image priority.

To create a large video archive DVR allows the operator to connect Smartec STG-ES disk arrays connected through a special gigabit port. In addition, STR-3293 can back up video from the archive on CD/DVD or flash card via DVD-RW drive and USB port respectively. Along with video information 32ch DVR will automatically record MiniPlayer utility for viewing video on any PC without installing additional software.

To control PTZ and speed dome cameras this video recorder features RS-232/RS-485 interface. Using these interfaces, the operator can connect Smartec STT-3X system keyboard and control DVR or PTZ-cameras operation. For stable PTZ-camera operation 32ch DVR supports the most popular protocols telemetry, including Pelco D and Pelco P, so it is compatible with third-party cameras and the entire line of Smartec PTZ-cameras. To deploy a multi-channel or distributed security system these interfaces can be utilized to combine STR-1693/STR-3293 video recorders into the one security network.

A distinctive feature of STR-3293 is the ability to create multiple monitoring posts due to the presence of 4 independent monitor outputs. New 32ch DVR features several modes of screen division, including 1, 4, 9 and 16 screen divisions. In addition, DVR provides an opportunity to adjust the periodic switching of images from multiple video channels, setting the sequence of cameras and their switching time delay.

Built-in motion detector provides a choice of frame areas for motion detection as well as one of the ten sensitivity levels. In addition, new video recorder features 16 alarm inputs for external alarm sensors and 4 relay outputs to control executive devices. Upon alarm receiving, 32ch DVR can produce alarm signal, send a notification to the specified e-mail, activate executive devices, change quality options for recording mode or start high-quality recording.

STR-3293 is supplied with VMS management software, which supports video streaming, searching and video playback as well as setup of DVR settings. Free VMS-Lite allows the operator to control up to 512 DVRs while VMS-Pro (paid version) can support up to 1024 32ch DVRs, and also provides the operator with some additional features. With the help of SmartSearch function, VMS software can perform a retrospective search of frames with a detected motion, even if the DVR recorded video continuously without using the motion detector.
