Graeme Gerrard joins 3G Associates Ltd

3G Associates Ltd are delighted to announce that Graeme Gerrard, formerly Deputy Chief Constable of Cheshire Constabulary has joined 3G Associates Ltd as Strategic Policing Adviser.

 

Garry Parkins, Director of Strategic Planning at 3G Associates commented: “I am very pleased that Graeme has agreed to join 3G Associates. He brings wide ranging experience of policing in this country and internationally. In addition his experience of police training will greatly enhance the growing international reputation that 3G Associates is building as part of its training portfolio.”

He continued,” Graeme joins 3G Associates at an exciting time for the company; we have recently completed the delivery of the first tranche of training in the Middle East of our unique Security Awareness and Body Language training course. The next tranche begins at the end of April”.

Graeme Gerrard commented: “I am delighted to be joining 3G Associates. The company has wide ranging experience and is involved in a number of projects that I believe will suit my skills base. As a police officer, I spent 15 years developing strategy around the police use of CCTV both in Britain and abroad. 3G Associates will allow me to continue to make a contribution in this area and also allow me to be involved in management training both nationally and internationally”.

Graeme Gerrard retired as Deputy Chief Constable of Cheshire Constabulary on 31 March 2012, having completed 37 years service with the force.

Graeme has been a police officer since 1975. His police career has been varied and has included periods in general policing, training and criminal investigation. In July 1998 he was appointed to the post of Assistant Chief Constable and became Cheshire’s Deputy Chief Constable in April 2005. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy in Washington, USA with an Honours Degree in Politics and Economics from Manchester University and a Masters Degree in Applied Criminology from Cambridge University

Graeme was the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) lead for burglary and CCTV, and chairman of the ACPO Burglary Reduction Working Group. He was a member of the ACPO Acquisitive Crime Board. He was been chairman of the ACPO Video/CCTV Working Group for over 10 years and chairman of the Video Analysis User Group. He was co-author of the National CCTV Strategy published in October 2007 and has chaired the National CCTV Strategy Programme Board since its inception in 2008. In November 2009 he was asked to chair the Olympic CCTV Project Board, a role he will continue following his retirement, until after the Olympic and Paralympics games.

He has published a number of articles on the subject of CCTV. He regularly speaks at conferences and gives advice to foreign governments and international police organisations on how CCTV is used by the police in the UK. His overseas visits have included Canada, USA, Morocco, Singapore, Brazil and India.

Graeme is married with two children. He was awarded the Queen’s Police Medal for distinguished service to policing in June 2009 and in March 2012 the Home Secretary, Teresa May presented him with a Career Achievement Award from the Police Training Authority Trust.

Following a request from a Middle East Government, 3G Associates worked with leading UK academics to develop a Security Awareness and Body Language Training Course. The course has been delivered and well received in the Middle East, and as a result of the success of the course a new round of courses is about to start, and a second Middle East Government has now contracted to company to deliver the course.
