Avigilon Expands into Russia with Hiring of Regional Sales Director

Latest addition to Avigilon’s global sales force will address fast-growing surveillance market in Russia and Commonwealth of Independent States

VANCOUVER, CANADA – March 7, 2012 – Avigilon, (TSX: AVO) a leader in high-definition (HD) and megapixel video surveillance solutions, today announced its continuing global expansion into the fast-growing surveillance market of Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) with the appointment of Pavel Zhorin, regional sales director.

According to IMS Research network video surveillance sales in the BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India and China) markets are expected to grow in excess of 30 percent in 2012. Russia and CIS offer a considerable opportunity with government spending increases projected and large infrastructure projects planned like the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympic Games. The city of Vancouver used Avigilon’s high-definition surveillance solutions to maintain public order and spectator safety during the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games.

"As Russia prepares for the world stage, public and private institutions are investing in high-definition surveillance technologies to protect their employees, customers and critical assets," said Alexander Fernandes, president and CEO of Avigilon. "Avigilon's HD surveillance solution, which combines high-definition network video management software with the industry's broadest range of megapixel cameras, delivers the image clarity, performance, and value that the Russian market demands."
