Axis Communications Financials

Interim report January-March 2012

• Net sales for the period January–March totalled SEK 881 M (808), an increase of 9 percent in Swedish kronor and 6 percent in local currency.

• Operating profit increased to SEK 79 M (126), which corresponds to an operating margin of 9 percent (15.6).

• Profit after tax amounted to SEK 57 M (91).

• Earnings per share amounted to SEK 0.82(1.31).

• Weak beginning but continued strong expansion.

"The beginning of the year was weaker than expected, which was explained by lower sales in the Americas region as well as weaker demand in emerging markets in the EMEA region. Towards the end of the quarter, we could note higher activity in all regions. We see unchanged growth potential for network video products and will continue our expansion, both as regards release of new, innovative products and recruitments.

“We released a number of new products in connection with the ISC West security fair in Las Vegas at the end of March, including Axis Camera Companion – an easy-to-use and cost-efficient network video solution for small surveillance systems. Axis Camera Companion represents a strong complement to our previously released cloud-based solution for smaller installations – Axis Video Hosting System, AVHS.

“We released a total of ten new network video products during the first quarter for both small and large installations. Our global expansion is continuing and we had 1,205 employees at the end of the period."
