ELMDENE EXTENDS VISION WITH RACK MOUNTED SWITCH MODE CCTV PSU RANGE

Innovative electronic security and fire products manufacturer, Elmdene International Limited - a subsidiary of Potter Signal, LLC - is expanding its best selling Vision CCTV range with the launch of two new 19" rack mounted 12V dc/12A Power Supply Units (PSUs).

The advanced 9 and 18 channel models feature the very latest high efficiency switch mode technology alongside individually fused output circuits to maximise protection for each powered circuit.

By incorporating switch mode technology, which typically delivers efficiency levels of 80-87%, the latest Vision CCTV PSUs offer the prospect of lower running costs and a reduced carbon footprint for users compared to more traditional linear options. In addition, with less heat generated in the units, there is the prospect of enhanced reliability and extended component life.

Resettable (PTC) fuses are a key element of the innovative, individually fused, output circuits integrated into the latest rack mounted Vision PSU models. In practice, these greatly simplify servicing by enabling output faults to be rectified without the need to actually replace individual fuses within a unit's enclosure.

Essentially, once a specific fault is cleared and the relevant fuse allowed to cool, the output can be reconnected and powered-up. Another important feature of the Vision PSUs are the front panel 'fuse health' LEDs which facilitate fast-track fault finding while modular construction eases servicing.

As well as being rack mounted the latest additions to the Vision CCTV PSU range can be desk mounted using the feet supplied or attached to a wall via fixing holes. This gives the installer flexibility to use the unit in a variety of applications. In addition, the output connections for the PSUs are made through screw terminals accessed at the rear of the housing alongside the mains IEC input with the mains input switch located on the front.
