Vemotion provides mobile phone video streaming solution

North Yorkshire, UK – 14th May 2012 – Vemotion Interactive, specialists in live video transmission over low bandwidth connections, today announced a new product, the VBox 10. This is a unique app that will allow the capture and real-time transmission of live video from the camera on your mobile phone.

The VBox 10 has been designed to be the ultimate in portable and snap reaction solutions, utilising existing equipment and networks in order to transmit real-time video from a scene or incident back to the operations control room. The VBox 10 system lends itself to both overt and covert use and is the most lightweight solution in the Vemotion video encoder product range.

The power of this solution can be integrated into other systems such as Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR). The user can point the phone camera at the vehicle registration plate and transmit the video to the control room where the images can be passed into the ANPR engine and results sent back to the handset.

No problems with maintaining databases on the phone or worrying about security of data on the platform as it is all stored securely at the control room.

“The VBox 10 is simplicity itself, being contained in an Android and Windows Mobile phone app. Simply open up the app and it will connect to the video camera on the phone and transmit live video to the control room and other operatives.

The video can be transmitted over low bandwidth GPRS or higher bandwidth 3G,” explained Stewart McCone, Managing Director of Vemotion Interactive Ltd.

Reliable stream technology provides live video from a small unit

North Yorkshire, UK – 16th May 2012 – Vemotion Interactive, specialists in live video transmission over low bandwidth connections, today announced a new product that enables security and blue light personnel to view live footage transmitted from remote locations to the control room over GPRS/3G providing connectivity in even the most demanding network conditions.

The VBox 20 is a fully integrated unit that provides a reliable live video feed from virtually any location. The small form factor unit takes video and power inputs and uses Vemotion technology to compress and transmit live video over a variety of networks, including low bandwidth networks such as GPRS and 3G, back to a control room delivering multi-screen views of video feeds and, optionally, out to other remotely deployed operatives.

“This encoder has been designed with ease of use, reliability and flexibility in mind,” explained Stewart McCone, Managing Director of Vemotion Interactive Ltd. “The small size of the unit allows it to be deployed in a variety of situations, giving maximum flexibility for operational use,” added McCone.

The transmitter requires power, video and any data-enabled SIM card to work (GPRS/3G version). Simply attach the camera and switch the unit on, it’s that simple.

The unit will connect to a server application which can be installed in a central control room or to any computer with a fixed IP address. Then, by installing a viewer application on a PC or mobile phone, you can view live video from wherever you are. You can even control PTZ cameras and switch between different qualities of video output, depending upon network conditions.
