Wavestore Preview Press Release - IFSEC 2012

Visitors to stand G60 at IFSEC 2012 will be able to see a demonstration of the latest market leading innovations which Wavestore has added to its video management software.

V5 of Wavestore’s VMS maintains the company’s tradition of providing easy to use open platform video recording solutions. It allows video images to be configured and displayed on a monitor in a large variety of sizes, formats and positions. It provides the option to switch from classical 1, 4, 9 or 16 camera layouts, to a free-form structure which enables each operator to configure their own unique display.

Large file sizes associated with megapixel cameras can be processed simultaneously with other camera types or video formats. The simultaneous display of live and pre-recorded video delivers real life practical functionality to operators in a control room environment. If an incident occurs, live camera images can be continually monitored by an operator who can at the same time, retrieve and review recorded video footage of the developing situation from the same or adjacent cameras.

A de-warped view of Panoramic cameras
V5’s De-Warping software module provides a powerful tool for security professionals looking to invest in Panoramic cameras to deter and detect criminal activity.

In a tough economic environment, anything which can help hard pressed security managers to achieve maximum benefit from their investment in video surveillance systems must be an attractive proposition. It is not surprising therefore that 180 and 360 degree cameras are increasingly being specified for projects where there is a need to continuously monitor activity e.g. retail environments, airports and public spaces.

The use of Panoramic technology can significantly reduce the number of cameras, infrastructure and security personnel needed to monitor a large area, and with no moving parts, further savings can be achieved on maintenance costs.

Until recently Panoramic degree cameras could only be installed with the respective manufacturers’ proprietary recording software. This has restricted the ability of the customers to utilise the cameras as part of a larger integrated video surveillance system.

Wavestore’s De-Warping software processes the fisheye images captured by 180 and 360-degree cameras, enabling one or many regions of interest to be displayed alongside footage from other types of cameras. It can be configured to automatically pan like a continual PTZ through images captured by a 180 or 360 degree camera whilst operators also have the option to effortlessly ‘move’ throughout the images via a conventional joystick or a 3-axis mouse.

Other key features of V5 include:

• Hugely scalable to support hundreds or thousands of cameras.
• An ultra-fast evidence search facility which allows an operator to scan images at an image rate of up to 8192 times the normal viewing rate.
• A remote access capability which negates the need for installation or service personnel to attend the site to implement software upgrades, whilst also allowing them to provide real-time diagnostics of any system issues.
• Four-click video back-up process
•Image Authentication
• Remote monitoring on SMART phone or tablet

A video which demonstrates some of these key features of V5 can be seen on the Wavestore website homepage – www.wavestore.com
