Information on a wide range of housings, | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
There has been talk for some time of a housings window glass being treated with a super water repellant coating, to allow the removal of wiper units, but so far this hasn't really happened yet, or certainly not to any marked degree. Along with rainwater comes city grime, and any expert will tell you that the major loss of picture quality with any external camera, is the build up of muck on the window. For some, mostly remote controlled cameras, this can be minimised by fitting a motorised wash bottle, usually with a one or five litre reservoir, which works in exactly the same way as a vehicles windscreen (shield) washers. Used in conjunction with the wiper, this will help to keep the housing window, squeeky clean! Mind you, it doesn't hurt to replace the wiper blade every now and again; and would it surprise you to know, this rarely if ever happens. You only need to check out the broadcast television pictures obtained from traffic monitoring CCTV cameras, to prove this point.
