Doktor Jons Guide to the "Use and Application of CCTV"
This is the main 'Technical Gateway' page - part of the 'Technical Section'

So would you like to play "Spot the CCTV Camera?". Eagle eyed visitors may recognise the profusion of street furniture, surrounding a single heritage dome camera keeping watch over part of Londons' prestigious Oxford Street shopping area.

Why does everything connected with CCTV
have to be so complicated?

Doktor Jon knows only too well how apparently simple CCTV problems can suddenly become hugely complicated, and do you know why? Well, as with most things in life, knowledge is power, and if anyone can make something simple, appear ever so slightly more complicated, there's probably some extra profit in it somewhere!

Okay so there are lots of highly technical aspects of CCTV, which even poor old Doktor Jon finds thoroughly confusing, but then he's only just got used to working the remote control on his television!!

If you want to find out more about any particular subject, simply 'click' on any of the links on the top left side of this page (please note, some sections are still under development), or go to the Site Technical Index or Quickfind;

It should be mentioned at this point, that the information provided in the Technical Section, is intended to offer a reasonable overview of all the various items and technologies currently and recently available, in an easily readable format. As such, overly technical information has been deliberately excluded so as to appeal to the widest range of visitors (if you require further details on any topic, you are always most welcome to forward an e-mail.)

In the meantime (and to be going on with) , there's a few topics below that might possibly be of interest:-
