American Fibertek Builds on Success Of V’nes Video Network Enterprise Solution
With Control Software Enhancements.

Upgrades to System Functionality in Step with Industry Trends.

Las Vegas, NV (April 1, 2009) American Fibertek, Inc. (AFI), the security industry’s leading independent supplier of transmission solutions for professional security applications, is introducing several feature enhancements to their powerful V’nes Pilot Series Video and Network Management Software here at ISC West 2009.  Feature enhancements include H.264 compatibility and a Web interface to provide advanced levels of integration and operational functionality.

“The enhanced features we added to our Pilot Series Video and Network Management Software offer new levels of efficiency and interoperability for complex system integration, and address many of the challenges inherent with converged systems,” said Jack Fernandes, President and CEO of AFI.  “Additionally, these enhancements keep V’nes ahead of the technology curve and represent our continued commitment to networked system technologies by offering solutions that meet the needs of our customers today and tomorrow.”

Upgrades to AFI’s V’nes Pilot Series Video and Network Management Software include: full integration with H.264 video compression technology; a web interface; improved viewing features including storing views on the fly, search and view while watching and multiple playbacks; alarm interface from any external source; and a video capture driver for USB devices such as webcams.

These new enhancements are in addition to upgrades to the Pilot software which were introduced last fall, including an individual camera viewing time line for easy access and immediate camera playback; megapixel camera integration with PTZ and dual screen viewing; programmable alarm pop up screens; and expanded driver integration for Arecont and SANYO IP cameras.

The Pilot Series Video and Network Management Software offers total control of video, data and voice, and is compatible with most manufacturer’s IP cameras, DVRs and video streamers for integration into virtually any system configuration.  This full-featured solution also includes site mapping, cascading server operation, client to client communication, VoIP (voice over IP), data integration, and redundant server back up, and its unique alarm profile generator allows for the custom programming of thousands of alarm conditions with specific responses.

V’nes provides an “Open Path” to integrate IP and analog systems operation and is the industry’s only comprehensive video surveillance network solution that delivers control, management and transmission capabilities in fully customizable and scalable user-specified configurations. For optimum efficiency and low total cost of ownership, V’nes accommodates any combination of video surveillance, access control, point of sale, voice and data system devices operating on an analog, IP or hybrid platform from virtually any manufacturer.
