New Software Partner Program
from Allied Vision Technologies

At VISION 2008, Allied Vision Technologies launched the AVT Certified Vision Software Partner Program. This cooperative effort connects the camera manufacturer with selected image processing software providers to optimize the compatibility of AVT cameras and SDKs with their software solutions.

Not only did VISION 2008 in Stuttgart serve as the introduction for a number of Allied Vision Technologies’ new digital cameras with FireWire and Gigabit Ethernet interfaces; the leading trade fair for industrial imaging was also host to the launch of the new AVT Certified Vision Software Partner Program. With this cooperative effort, the leading camera manufacturer aims to provide, together with selected image processing software providers, optimized compatibility and improved support for AVT camera users.

 High compatibility, better support
“Allied Vision Technologies works in close cooperation with its certified partners to optimize the use of AVT cameras with their image processing solutions,” explained Jens Hashagen, Product Manager Software at Allied Vision Technologies. “On the one hand, intelligent camera functions (AVT Smart Features) are made accessible in an easy-to-use manner; on the other, the use of AVT Software components such as drivers or ActiveX controls makes an expanded range of applications possible for these cameras such as FireWire S800 support with Windows Vista.”

The program allows for the exchange of AVT camera models and software licenses, regular information exchanges regarding firmware and software updates and close cooperation in development and customer support. Furthermore, software interfaces developed by AVT for partner applications will also be made available on the AVT Product CD and Website. “As a result of this comprehensive partnership, together with our partners we are able to assure AVT camera users tested compatibility, easy installation, and strong support,” advised Hashagen.

Ten leading software providers already certified
The launch of the AVT Certified Vision Software Partner Program is off to a quick start: ten of the leading providers of imaging software joined the initiative and became AVT Certified Vision Software Partners: A&B Software, Cognex, Euresys, The MathWorks, Matrox, MVTec, National Instruments, Norpix, Stemmer Imaging, and Tordivel are already on board. Further partners should be added shortly, according to Hashagen. Discussions have already begun.
