Allied Vision Technologies A Major Exhibitor at The Vision Show in Phoenix

Allied Vision Technologies launches new digital FireWire and GigE Vision™ cameras
at the largest booth in Phoenix.

Visitors of The Vision Show to be held in Phoenix, AZ from March 31 to April 2 cannot miss Allied Vision Technologies. With a 200 sq. ft. booth located right in the middle of the exhibition hall, Allied Vision Technologies will be one of the biggest exhibitors of the show. The leading manufacturer of digital cameras for machine vision will display its full portfolio with FireWire and GigE Vision™ interface including the Prosilica range of high-performance Gigabit Ethernet cameras. More resolution, more sensitivity, and more value are common threads of the nine new camera models presented at the show.

More Details With Higher Resolution Sensors
Allied Vision Technologies expands several of its existing product lines with new models featuring higher resolution sensors.

The Pike and Stingray series of high-speed FireWire cameras are now available with 5-Megapixel resolution. Thanks to its Sony ICX625 sensor with double channel readout, the Pike F-505 delivers up to 15 fps at full resolution. The Stingray F-504 features the Sony ICX655 sensor with a single channel readout and output of 9 fps at full resolution. Both cameras are equipped with an IEEE 1394b interface available as standard copper or optical fiber ports.

For even higher resolution requirements, the Prosilica GE4900 is a 16-Megapixel version of the Prosilica GE series of high-performance Gigabit Ethernet cameras. The camera features a compact housing to fit the high-resolution Kodak KAI-16000 CCD Sensor. Thanks to its GigE Vision™ interface, the GE4900 allows for cable lengths of up to 100m (300 ft.) with conventional Cat5e or Cat6 network cables.

Greater Sensitivity with ExView HAD
High sensitivity is often a key component of image quality for image processing, and becomes critical when lighting variations occur. The Sony ExView HAD sensor technology, with its micro-lenses, improves light sensitivity exponentially compared to conventional CCD chips. The new AVT Stingray F-125 complements the Stingray FireWire camera range with a 1.3 Megapixel ExView HAD sensor, delivering outstanding image quality.

In the GigE Vision™ compliant Prosilica GC series, the GC660, GC1290 and GC1380 all feature ExView HAD technology for high sensitivity requirements. The Prosilica GC series is one of the world’s smallest machine vision camera with a Gigabit Ethernet interface and delivers exceptional value.

More Bang for the Buck: GC Series and Guppy
In tough economic times, budgets are short but quality expectations remain high. In Phoenix, Allied Vision Technologies introduces the new Prosilica GC780 low-cost GigE Vision™ camera. The ultra-compact GC780 (33x46x38mm) features the 1/2" Sony ICX415 progressive scan CCD sensor and runs at 64 frames per second at full resolution (SVGA, 782x582). Its economic price makes it an excellent entry model into GigE Vision™.

The AVT Guppy entry-level camera family with IEEE 1394 interface has also been expanded with a new high-resolution version: the Guppy F-503. This extremely compact camera is equipped with a 5-Megapixel CMOS sensor and stands out from the crowd with its competitive pricing, making the Guppy F-503 a very attractive price/performance/resolution ratio.

“Our presence at the Vision Show is another step in the integration of Prosilica into the Allied Vision Technologies group”, comments Michael Cyros, CEO of Allied Vision Technologies Inc. “With our wide product lineup with FireWire and GigE Vision™ interface and new products meeting the challenges of our time, we are confident for further growth in the North American market”.
