Bosch improves performance of Extreme Series IR Imagers

Bosch applies new infrared LED technology to its field proven Extreme Series IR Imager range, dramatically improving the cameras night-time performance for covert surveillance applications.

Bosch’s EX30, EX80 and EX82 IR Imagers combine high performance optics and integrated infrared LED illumination to deliver superior image quality both day and night. Integrated into a single, compact IP67 rated housing for uncompromising performance even in the harshest of surveillance conditions, the Extreme Series IR Imagers are designed for quick and easy installation.

This same technology has been applied to the recently launched Extreme IP Series of cameras which combines the outstanding low light performance of the IR Imager cameras, with a Bosch IP encoder to deliver unrivalled IP enabled surveillance during the day and in total darkness at night.

The covert 940nm versions of both these camera ranges will be supplied with new infrared LEDs which can extend their achievable surveillance range by as much as 60%, enabling longer range recognition level night-time images. Demand for these cameras is expected for critical security applications which demand covert surveillance at night, like railways and road safety applications.

This is another significant product improvement hastened by Bosch’s 2008 acquisition of the Extreme CCTV Group. The acquisition allows Bosch to expand its already extensive CCTV product portfolio to satisfy an even wider range of applications and customer needs including covert surveillance applications.
