UK companies to develop their international trade network at IFSEC 2009

IFSEC 2009, 11-14 May 2009 NEC Birmingham, UK

IFSEC, the world’s largest annual security event, will welcome a delegation of international security buyers at the 2009 event when it takes place from 11-14 May at the NEC Birmingham.

UK exhibitors will have a unique opportunity to develop their international trade activity through this programme which has been organised by the British Security Industry Association, Fire Industry Association, The Association of Police & Public Security Suppliers and event organisers UBM Live. The initiative is also supported by UK Trade and Investment.

A “Meet the Buyers” event, which will be opened by Prince Michael of Kent, will take place on Monday 11 May at which exhibitors will be invited to “speed network” with key buyers and decision makers from the international delegation. Representatives from Argentina, Canada, Egypt, India, Italy, Lebanon, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa and Vietnam will be present with the aim of placing substantial orders within the security, safety and fire industries.

The international delegates will also have access to the International Visitors Lounge in which there will be translators to facilitate any business negotiations should it be necessary. They will also be in attendance at the IFSEC Security Industry Awards Dinner on Monday 11 May.

James Blue, Director of Fire & Security at UBM Live, organisers of IFSEC, comments: “The “Meet the Buyers” event further confirms that IFSEC is the leading platform for international security trade. Our experience from previous years emphasises that our Inward Missions programme provides a unique opportunity for UK based exhibitors to explore international business markets from the comfort of IFSEC. Their networking may well result in an increase of international trade and is therefore an opportunity not to be passed up.”

IFSEC 2009, the world’s largest annual security event, is co-located with The Facilities Show, Fire & Rescue, International Firex and Safety & Health Expo at NEC Birmingham and will take place from 11-14 May 2009.
