ISNR London launches ‘The Secure London Initiative’

ISNR London, the international security and national resilience event, to be staged at Olympia on 2 and 3 December, is launching an initiative that will focus on all aspects of the security challenges facing London’s businesses and the infrastructure of the capital itself.

Mounted with the support of the London Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI), ‘The Secure London Initiative’ will provide a forum for security professionals across all business sectors to learn, both from their peers and representatives of leading security agencies, how London’s commercial enterprises are planning to ensure the security of their people, businesses and assets.

Taking the security of London as an international model for proficient security and resilience practices, ‘The Secure London Initiative’ will have its own focus area on the exhibition floor where leading experts will present current case studies detailing the latest approaches and best practice.

As one of the world’s largest capital cities, London has a hard-earned track record of having to both plan for and face up to a range of security and resilience challenges. Over the last few decades the city has had to deal with not just the threat of terrorist attacks but actual incidents carried out by the IRA and, more recently, Islamic extremists. In addition to this, the spectre of pandemics such as bird flu, flooding due to climate change and international cyber crime have also been on the city’s security agenda in recent times.

ISNR London’s event director, Richard Clarke, said: ‘Although our event has a truly international appeal, we couldn’t think of a better city to spotlight as an example of how to plan and prepare for a range of security issues than London itself. We believe ‘The Secure London Initiative’ will be a popular extra attraction to visitors planning to visit the exhibition and conference as well as a great opportunity for solution providers to gain more visibility by supporting and sponsoring this initiative.’

The LCCI works hard to keep its members focused on taking the right steps to ensure their businesses are secure and can continue to function should the worst happen. Lending its support to ‘The Secure London Initiative’, Stuart Webster, Marketing Manager for the London Chamber of Commerce said: ‘We are delighted to support this event. We have had a defence and security sector for many years and welcome the opportunity for an exhibition in London aimed directly at that sector. It is a great opportunity for networking and raising the profile of companies within this sector.’

ISNR London is the only event in Europe that allows attendees to network and do business with high security end-users and sector professionals. ISNR brings together government, public sector, police and emergency response, transport and critical national infrastructure stakeholders with commercial and private security organisations. This focused event delivers a unique opportunity to learn from a comprehensive seminar programme and high-level, industry leading conference and showcases the complete range of real-world, workable security solutions.

ISNR London takes place on the 2nd & 3rd December 2008 at the National Hall, Olympia.
