IndigoVision Launches Innovative PTZ IP Dome

IndigoVision has introduced a revolutionary new 9000 H.264 PTZ IP dome that overcomes the high data rates or loss of video quality associated with traditional IP domes when a camera is moving. IndigoVision’s innovative design reduces high-bandwidth bursts during pan and tilt movement, through the use of a unique algorithm that automatically adapts the compression to suit the type of movement. The result is improved video compression without losing picture quality during high-motion periods. This unique approach, coupled with the company’s renowned video quality delivers one of the best performing IP PTZ cameras on the market.

IndigoVision's range of 9000 PTZ IP domes are designed to be used with the company's complete end-to-end IP Video solution and have advanced H.264 compression technology built-in. The cameras can deliver high-quality video at 4SIF 25/30 fps with a guarantee that no frames will be dropped even in high-motion scenes. The cameras are available with many options including internal or external housings, day/night versions and multiple zooms.

The 9000 PTZ cameras are fully compatible with IndigoVision's ‘Control Center’ Video and Alarm Management software and its range of Network Video Recorders (NVRs). Using powerful ‘Control Center’ alarms, the 9000 cameras can be fully integrated with third-party systems such as access control and intruder security. An external alarm, such as a security perimeter breach, can automatically cause a 9000 PTZ camera to pan to a preset position to view the incident.

IndigoVision's IP Video solution allows advanced features such as Activity Controlled Framerate (ACF) and camera-based real-time analytics to be deployed in the IP dome itself. These features further reduce the bandwidth and NVR storage requirements during periods of scene inactivity and allow the user to deploy analytics to identify events as they occur in real-time.

The 9000 range provides the same high quality, low-latency video that has been consistently delivered by the company’s 8000 MPEG-4 based systems but with a reduction of up to 50% in bandwidth and storage requirement or to put it another way, 9000 based systems can deliver significantly higher video quality for the same bandwidth.
