IndigoVision Drives H.264 into mainstream IP-CCTV

IndigoVision, a leading manufacturer of complete IP Video CCTV surveillance solutions, has announced significant price reductions on its 9000 range of H.264 products. This is part of a wider strategy to drive H.264 systems into the mainstream of IP Video solutions. The 9000 range is priced only slightly above the company’s hugely successful 8000 family of MPEG-4 based products.

The 9000 range delivers higher quality video compared to 8000 based systems, with a typical reduction of 20 to 30% in bandwidth and storage requirement. This means H.264 solutions can in some cases be more cost effective than MPEG-4 systems.

“Introduced in 2006, our H.264 products were some of the first to be launched in the marketplace and have since been deployed and field-proven in surveillance projects around the world,” said Oliver Vellacott, IndigoVision’s CEO. “These price reductions will not only help increase the adoption of H.264 based systems, but they will also help accelerate IndigoVision’s already outstanding growth.”

This strategy will see price reductions across the 9000 family of products, including transmitter/receiver modules, Network Video Recorders (NVRs), and the company’s popular range of fixed and PTZ IP Dome cameras.
