Pelco and CBORD Integrate Campus Video Security and Access Control Solutions

Clovis, CA (October 7, 2008) Pelco, a leader in the manufacture of video and security systems, and CBORD, the leading provider of campus card systems and access control solutions to colleges and universities, are pleased to announce a new integrated solution with the Pelco DX8100 digital video recording system platform and CBORD CS Access™ IP-based access control system.

The Pelco DX8100 DVR interface will provide customers with single-click live video playback through the CS Access user interface, therefore greatly enhancing situational awareness and enabling quick responses to security threats. The resulting solution will connect technology platforms across campus for elegant data flow between access control systems, alarm management software, campus card solutions, point-of-sale systems, and more.

“Today's security operators are too busy to search for crucial information in multiple locations. So integration between the CBORD and Pelco solutions brings the relevant data directly to their fingertips. CS Access is an industry leader in IP-based access control technology, and when combined with Pelco's leading video security and storage solutions, the result is a powerful platform that leverages the strengths of each for a total security solution,” says Cindy McCall, Vice President, Marketing, The CBORD Group, Inc.

“The Pelco-CBORD collaboration brings together the industry leaders in security and video technology, with each company having vast experience in campus, healthcare, restaurant, and supermarket security,” says Steve Nibbelink, Pelco Industry Manager Campus Markets. “This new integration of the Pelco DX8100 DVR system and the CBORD CS Access solution provides a productive, safe and secure environment for our mutual customers.”

Gary Conley, Facilities and Systems Engineer, University of Virginia, says, “The integration between CS Access and the Pelco solution works well. Our security staff appreciates integrated video display, video capture, and remote door control from a single console. The ability to see the door and cycle the lock from a single interface has been particularly well received.”
