< Pelco "Spectra Mini" Dome camera

Californian based CCTV equipment manufacturer Pelco, have got the new year off to a flying start, with the recent launch of various new products into the marketplace. Building on the outstanding success of their existing dome camera units, the company have announced the introduction of a new miniature fully functioning dome called the "Spectra Mini".
Equipped with a high resolution colour camera sporting a 10x optical zoom lens, and 8x electronic zoom, the unit is packaged in a case only just over 4 inches in diameter. Precise positional control is supplemented with 64 pre-set positions, and window blanking features, all driven using optional UTP cable, and a standard 24v power rail.

As more installers and system designers move towards adopting low cost Unshielded Twisted Pair signal transmission, Pelco are introducing a range of UTP products ( see photo right ) to compliment their existing transmission portfolio. Offering both short range 'passive' and longer distance 'active' options, video signals can be relayed economically and without the risk of interference often found on some inferior co-axial installations. Signal specifications allow passive transmission up to 750 feet (225 metres), and active operation up to a maximum of 4000 feet (1200 metres) or Co-axitron control up to 750 feet (225 metres).

Still on the subject of transmission, Pelco have also introduced a new four channel Bi-Directional Fibre Optic Data Transmission pair, the FT 8104 / FR 8104. The units can transmit four independent data channels using RS 232, RS422, 2 or 4 wire RS 485, Manchester and Bi-Phase data protocols. The units are also equipped with four unidirectional contact closure functions
