The futures getting closer ....

Opinions may be divided over the exact timescale for full integration of Internet Protocol (IP Video) CCTV products into mainstream security, but industry experts acknowledge that this truly is the way ahead.

Whilst analogue and digital systems move ever closer towards total convergence, the CCTV industry is gearing up to address a predicted knowledge gap, both amongst practitioners and end users.

To help address the challenges facing security professionals, the IP UserGroup, "an independent security technology forum" is launching a new series of free local events, each themed to address a key issue.

The "IP-in-Action LIVE" tour, will be staged at 3 venues, providing technical seminars, educational presentations, and a unique opportunity to obtain 'hands on' experience, of this rapidly developing technology.

Andy Hennings, Manager of the IP User Group comments "... there is always a great buzz as attendees take the opportunity to network with each other....We make an effort to keep the day relaxed ....something for everyone on the knowledge ladder".

The first event, 'Commerce & Industry' is to take place on 23rd June '05 at the Leeds Ramada Parkway Hotel. This will be followed by a 2nd UK event, 'Local Government' at the Northampton Moat House Hotel on the 15th September 2005. The final event of the series moves across the Channel to Brussels in Belgium, with a theme of 'Homeland Security'; this event being scheduled to take place on the 8th December 2005.
