IndigoVision have recently received the prestigious Frost & Sullivan "2008 European Network Video Surveillance Award for Customer Value Enhancement". As a supplier of IP Video and Alarm management solutions, the companies CEO Oliver Vellacott has said "I am delighted that the company-wide commitment to customer service and product development has been recognised with this award.". -

In Port Elizabeth, New Jersey USA, Maher Terminals as one of the worlds largest independent multi user container terminal operators, has deployed an extensive video surveillance system supplied by JVC Professional.
The installation includes the use of VR-N1600U Network Video Recorders, and VN-C655U high performance IP Video dome cameras, which are tasked both with managing the 4,000 truck movements a day, and also assisting with the efficient operation of dock cranes, to oversee the loading and unloading of vessels

Allied Vision Technologies (AVT) a leading manufacturer of digital machine vision cameras for industrial applications, has become an Associate Member of the Japan Industrial Imaging Association (JIIA). - more info. on this story

Cambridge based specialist Thermal Imaging manufacturer Thermoteknix Systems, have been conferred with the Queens Award for Enterprise 2008. Having previously received the Queens Award for Export Achievement in 1998, the company now joins a small select group of businesses, that have been honoured with two awards in different categories.

In an announcement made during the IFSEC 2008 event, three of the industry's leading manufacturers, Axis Communications, Bosch and Sony, have agreed to co-operate on developing a common standard interface for all future Network Video products. Later in the year, there are also plans to start an open industry forum to encourage other manufacturers to participate - more info. on this story

Qeeps have announced that their CCTV to Mobile Device Service, has been adopted by Newcastle City Council to allow restricted access to traffic monitoring cameras, using authorised mobile phones .

Canadian specialist transmission manufacturer MuxLab have added a unique Dual S-Video Balun to their existing product range. It's been reported that Verint have received a US$ 3.3 million award in damages against Nice Systems, for infringement of it's patent relating to Speech Analytics technology. The jury decision was reached in the US District Court for the Northern District of Georgia. - more info. on this story

The 17 train stations on the West Coast Main Line, have recently benefitted from the upgrade of their video recording systems, using Visimetrics Fastar, Vader and Octar DVR's. The network operator Virgin Trains, settled on a Visimetrics solution, which provides a flexible solution that can be viewed and managed using their Control Station product, offering full integration with their existing national security operation. - more info. on this story

It's been reported that since Sanyo Electric Co. have moved production of their CCTV and IP Video cameras from their plants in Japan, to new manufacturing facilities in Mainland China, the US Federal Government will no longer be able to purchase them. China is currently exempt from the governments list of "favoured " nations that are permitted to supply to the U.S. -

Bosch have introduced a number of new LCD Flatscreen Monitors, providing a range of optional screen sizes from 15 inch VGA resolution, up to a substantial 42" UXGA model.The units automatically detect either PAL or NTSC signals, and can operate from wide range voltages of 90 up to 256v AC. The smaller size models with 15 > 19" screen size, also auto adapt to the input resolution to provide an optimal image. - more info. on this story
