CCTV Industry 'News in Brief' - January & February 2007

2007 seems to be the year for anniversaries, with the British Security Industry Association (BSIA) due to celebrate 40 years of success; the Canadian Security Association celebrating 30 years, the UK's Neighbourhood Watch movement having a 25th birthday, and ALAS, the Latin American Security Association who provide CCTV training for their members in Mexico, celebrating their 10th year of operations.

New from Pelco this month, the latest version of their integrated dome camera units, the Camclosure IS, provides five different pre assembled case designs, each offered with five camera / optic combinations, to suit practically any conditions .
With imaging packages that range from standard resolution colour, through high resolution, wide dynamic and day / night operation, users can select the exact performance package to suit their needs. Transmission options include composite unbalanced, or balanced UTP connections, with an additional service video output as standard.

Also new for 2007, JVC Professional Europe's VN - C625U IP Network dome camera has been incorporated into a rapid deployment camera system, which features 3G mobile phone (cellphone) transmission technology.

The system which has been engineered by Clearview Communications, based in Chelmsford , Essex, U.K., is particularly suited to providing remote coverage of areas prone to crime and anti social behaviour.

Working on the principle that "the proof of the pudding is in the eating', Bosch Security Systems recently held a camera demonstration event, at a Water Ski Club adjacent to it's Denham HQ. Throughout the event, invited guests including consultants, specifiers and end users, were able to see the company's complete range of Dinion cameras, working under a wide range of diverse lighting conditions.
