To coincide with the IIPSEC 2008 event held at Stoneleigh Park, the annual IIPSEC Innovation Awards were presented at a gala dinner held at the Hilton Hotel, Coventry. The winners have been announced as Honeywell Building Systems for both the Innovation and Application Awards, Cieffe S.p.A scooped the Hardware product award for their NETTUNO MegaDome PTZ camera, Salent collected the accolade for their Monitoring System Software, and Axis picked up the IP UserGroup Membership Award..

Specialist Video Record System manufacturer Tecton, have introduced a unique archiving solution, the High Volume Data Storage unit. Engineered to occupy just 1U of rack space, the unit provides a massive 6TB of storage using 6 HDD's in a single removable 'cassette'. - more info. on this story

Following hard on the heels of receiving the IIPSEC Innovation "Hardware Product" award for their unique MegaPixel Dome camera, specialist Italian IP Video equipment manufacturer Cieffe S.p.A., along with their sister company Insignis Technologies S.r.l., have confirmed their acquisition by Canadian DVR and video analysis company March Networks. The € 20m. deal is expected to complete by the end of March 2008. -

Pelco have just revealed details of a number of colaborations with partner companies, to further expand the flexibility of their product line. AMAG Technology have been working on integrating Pelco's DX 8000 and 8100 recorders into a building management role; Open Options Inc. have devised a software management platform for the DX 8100, and DSX Access Systems are integrating a range of DVR and IP management products into their access control systems - more info. on this story ... Canadian manufacturer Muxlab have now introduced their latest VideoEase CCTV Pass-Thru/GLI Balun for use with a PTZ camera over Cat5 cabling. The balun breaks out 24AC power, control and video signals, with full ground loop isolation up to 50v. DC. - more info. on this story ...

FLIR Systems have announced a unique evening seminar to be held on the 12th February 2008, at the Imperial War Museum in Duxford, Cambridgeshire (U.K.). Dallmeier UK have introduced the latest in their range of "Leonardo" Digital Video Recorders, by launching the DMS 240 IPS network version. Providing 24 IP based video and audio channels, the unit can record at 25fps per channel in CIF format, with resolution available up to 4CIF. - more info. on this story

Just weeks after taking up his position as Chief Operating Officer at Pelco, it's been announced that Dean Meyer has now been promoted to President and CEO - he replaces 20 year veteren David L. McDonald who remains as Chairman of the Board more info. on this story

IndigoVision have provided a 36 camera IP based surveillance system for IKEA France's newest flagship store in Grenoble. Two seperate workstations have been set up to provide live monitoring and restricted access replay of recordings, with all camera images being stored for around 15 days using three Network Video Recorders.
