A time for changes - Following it's recent acquisition of Dennard, UK manufacturer Dedicated Micros has announced "...an extensive review..." to the Dennard product range. Whilst a limited number of products are being discontinued, all aluminium based items will in future be supplied with an Alochrome corrosion resistant treatment as standard.

Full board - U.S. based Parvus Corporation have announced the launch of their CTR 1471PC/104-Plus eight channel JPEG 2000 video encoder card. The board can be incorporated into DVR equipment and IP/Network applications, and is claimed to be particularly suitable for vehicle and on-board transport situations.

A bright future togethor - FLIR Systems, a market leading developer of Infra Red and Thermal imaging camera systems, has announced the setting up of a strategic alliance with fellow US based CCTV specialist Pelco.

If the face fits - A4Vision Inc. have announced a new 3D facial recognition capability, to "revolutionise search results against existing 2D photo databases". Their innovative system is claimed to provide a high throughput solution for biometric image analysis in demanding applications, such as border control verification. The company's 3D Facial Enrollment Camera has previously been awarded the prestigious "Best of Show Award" at the ISC West security event, held in Las Vegas earlier this year.

Making light of dark work - Extreme CCTV, the Canadian based specialist manufacturer of Infra Red based cameras, has recently been recognised as one of British Columbias 50 Strongest Publicly Traded Companies.

Words from the wise - The keynote speaker at the 8th Annual Industry Summit at ISC West 2006 in Las Vegas, Nevada, has been announced as Tom Ridge, the first Secretary of Homeland Security, and former Governor of Pennsylvania

Lots of fibre - Californian based CCTV specialist Pelco, have announced that their 'PelcoFiber' transmission products have now been rated to meet and exceed NEMA TS-1/TS-2 and Caltrans Specifications, for Traffic Signal control equipment.

A massive sales drive - Merit Li Lin U.K. have recently launched what is claimed to be the largest CCTV demonstration vehicle operating anywhere in Europe. The 38 foot ( 11.5 metre ) custom built truck, has been designed as a mobile showroom for the company's extensive CCTV product range, and will be operated from the UK headquarters in Milton Keynes.

Branching out - More news from CCTV specialist Pelco, who have just announced the opening of a new regional office in Fort Collins Colorado. Already claimed to be the worlds largest manufacturer of CCTV security systems, this new facility is planned to create up to 50 new positions within the next twelve months.


Videotec SpA, the Italian specialist manufacturer of camera housings and positioning systems, have recently appointed U.K. based Envisage Technology Ltd., as a Value Added Reseller for their unique ULISSE product. The company will also be in a position to distribute Videotec's existing product range.
