French manufacturing group Schneider Electric, have announced completion of the acquisition of Clovis based CCTV manufacturer Pelco, with all shares bought for the grand sum of US$ 1,540 million. All future trading by the company will be reflected in Schneiders accounts as from 16th October 2007. Plymouth City Centre is just the latest location in the U.K., to benefit from "Talking CCTV". Bosch Security Systems have supplied their horn speakers to be fitted in four areas of the city, with control room operators now able to verbally communicate with any individuals 'caught on camera'. Mike Atherton, the local Community Safety Manager is quoted as saying "We have the power to actively remind people that they are being watched. DVTel have recently completed the supply of their Latitude Network Video Management System (NVMS) to the Brisbane Metropolitan Transport Management Centre (BMTMC). FLIR Systems Inc. a specialist manufacturer of Thermal Imaging cameras, have entered into an agreement to acquire a controlling interest in french camera company Cedip Infrared Systems. FLIR will be buying 67.8% of Cedip's share capital at an agreed price of € 41.4 million ( $ 57.1 million £ 29.6 million ). DVTel have just been awarded a prestigious contract to supply their Latitude Network Video Management System (NVMS) to one of India's largest transportation authorities. This new project reflects the company's continued growth in operations, with additional technical staff, a Business Development Manager and a Regional Sales Manager all having been recently appointed.
