US based mega-pixel camera specialist Arecont Vision have recently announced the appointment of Iain Cameron, as their offiicial representative for the UK and Ireland.

UK specialist control room furniture manufacturer Gresham Wood, have recently completed the commissioning of a completely new security control room at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.The design has been optimised to provide a state of the art facility for the CCTV operators tasked with protecting this vital resource.

US based CCTV camera manufacturer Cohu Electronics, have licenced video analytics software from Agent Video Intelligence (Agent Vi), for use in their advanced 3960 remote positioning IP network camera system. The software uses patented Image Processing over IP (IPOIP), to provide enhanced monitoring and alert status for any suspicious or pre programmed activities.

Also new from Pelco this month, the latest version of their remote control camera positioning system, the Esprit TI has been developed with an integrated thermal imaging camera. The FLIR® un-cooled imaging system, can produce images of heat source targets, under the most challenging of conditions; smoke, fog, heavy rain and total darkness present no obstacles to detection, with the system providing obvious benefits in a wide range of industrial, commercial and law enforcement applications.

ATEME have just introduced their latest H.264 compact audio + video encoder. The model VSIP2 is a single channel unit, which boasts a 25% reduction on bandwidth requirements over its MPEG - 4 equivalent. It can be configured for one or more channels, with larger installations offering 20 units configured into a standard 3U rack enclosure.

Yet another new product from Pelco this month, is their 60 input 'Multiviewer' display device. Designed to allow a mixture of both composite and VGA signals, the unit can provide a vast number of split screen resized image options on either a single or multiple displays.

Specialist CCTV equipment manufacturer Videotec SpA, have announced the launch of their latest weatherproof housing varient, designed specifically for use with Thermal Imaging cameras.
The housings have been constructed with a Germanium infra red transparent window, providing total protection for imaging cameras used in a range of challenging roles, including fire and rescue, public safety, military and marine applications.

JVC Professional Europe have recently announced the appointment of Phil Wring, to the position of Sales Manager for all CCTV and IP Video products in the U.K.

With 9 years experience in the CCTV industry, Phil has previously held management positions with both Optex and Bosch. Apart from developing UK sales, Phil will also be concentrating on IP Video related applications.

Bosch Security Systems have announced the upgrading of their existing Flexidome camera series. The latest 15 bit technology already proven in the Dinion XF range, has now been incorporated into all Flexidome models, providing a range of marked improvments and innovations across the entire range.
