Pelco have recently announced the appointment of Dean Meyer to the position of Chief Operating Officer, reporting directly to the company's CEO David L. McDonald.. During his previous seven year tenure as President at TAC Americas, he grew the business five fold into a half billion dollar a year turn over. US specialist camera manufacturer Cohu Electronics, have just started production of their latest network Dome camera. The new model 3940 is designed to provide advanced performance with increased reliability when compared to conventional dome cameras. DVTel have supplied their IP based 'iSOC' intelligent Security Operations Centre to mexican transport company Transportes Aguila de Oro, for use throughout their offices and shipping terminals in Monterey, Santa Rosa and Laredo. Verint Systems have recently been awarded the Frost & Sullivan 2007 Mass Transit Security Company of the Year award for the European Market. Massachusetts based NoblePeak Vision have won the prestigious Global Security Challenge competition, winning US$ 500,000 for their innovative extreme sensitivity germanium based imaging systems for zero light operation.

Bosch Security Systems have introduced a new dummy dome camera, which is designed to complement the existing FlexiDome VF unit. Being indistinguishable from a working camera, it is useful in situations where operational cameras need to be constantly relocated as circumstances dictate.

Vancouver based Extreme CCTV, manufacturer of specialist ANPR and Infra Red camera systems, have received a take over offer from Bosch Security Systems. The canadian company currently employs 130 staff with a previous annual turnover of Can$ 27 million ( £ 13.5 million, € 19 million), and with an offer price of Can$ 5 per share, if accepted the acquisition is likely to be in the region of Can $ 93 million ( £ 44 million, € 62 million )

The polish distributor for IQinVision IP cameras has recently been awarded the Medal of ALARM Kiecle at the 8th Video Surveillance Conference and Exhibition. The presentation was made for the company's model K1431 5 MegaPixel high resolution camera.

In their annual 'Toys for Tots' campaign, US manufacturer Pelco have this year donated 153,240 toys to the US Marine Corps charity, at a lavish ceremony held at the company's Clovis headquarters in California. A wide range of events are held throughout the year to raise funds to purchase seasonal gifts for needy children.
