MDI Security Systems have announced the launch of what they claim is the worlds only 3D Video Motion Detection software, specifically designed for surveillance. The company's unique new SenseEye VMD™ uses views from two overlapping cameras to detect movement within a volume, rather than in a plane.

US based chip manufacturer Micron Technology Inc., have recently demonstrated their latest range of CMOS imaging chips, at the ISC West show in Las Vegas. Along with 1/4" VGA grade sensors, the company have also introduced a range of megapixel devices, offering 2,3 and 5 megapixel resolution, for a wide range of imaging applications.

CCTV System specialist G1 Ltd., have recently completed the installation of a new system at London's unique Covent Garden Market. This popular attraction in the heart of the city, reportedly plays host to over 35 million visitors a year, all coming to enjoy a wide range of restaurants and entertainment facilities. The installation comprises a range of Pelco static and PTZ monitoring equipment, digitally recorded and displayed in the security control room on JVC 17 inch LCD monitors.


JVC Professional Europe have announced the appointment of Leon Rockall as their new southern area Sales Executive. He comes to the business with some experience of JVC products, having previously worked both with a manufacturer and CCTV distributor in the past.

In time for the ISC West event in Las Vegas, US manufacturer Pelco have announced a number of new products, to add to their already significant portfolio. The new DVR 5300 is a high performance recording system designed for mission critical enterprise applications. The proven technology of the company's Spectra III dome camera, has now been released as an "Endura™" compatible unit, known as the Spectra III EVS ... more ...

Canada based Extreme CCTV, have announced significant recent orders for their UF 500 Infra Red illuminator. An undisclosed quantity of units have been supplied for a highways surveillance application in Brazil, oil refinery security in Europe, the US army in the Middle East, and 250 units are currently being supplied to 19 power sub stations in Pennsylvania.


Italian based CCTV equipment manufacturer Videotec S.p.A., have announced the appointment of four new members to the Sales Team. Area Sales Managers Nicola Risi (Southern Europe, Middle East and Latin America), and Davide Boschetti (Northern Europe and Germany), are supported by Nicoletta Ballico and Antonella Dal Maso working for Internal Sales.

Magal Security have introduced a new addition to it's unique 'DreamBox' intelligent CCTV platform. Due for it's official European launch at the forthcoming IFSEC 2006 show in Birmingham, the "Intelligent Site-in-Motion" application will extend the functionality of a suitably equipped system, to effectively provide a hands free approach to target identification and tracking. Individuals can be tracked from one over lapping camera view to another, even to the extent of providing automated surveillance using PTZ or dome cameras. At any time, the positional information of an individually tracked target, can be displayed on a suitable map, graphic or GUI.
